Directions:
From Johannesburg N1 towards Pretoria. Take Allandale offramp at Midrand. Turn right over the highway. Third traffic light (incl. the traffic light on the highway) turn left onto the K101/Old Pretoria Road. Turn right at the fourth traffic light which is Dale Road. Turn right at the third road which is Kruger Road. Go straight down Kruger, pass a stop street and we are about 800m on the right hand side

Public

Our Park is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday - 10am to 4pm. The Lory Park Animal and Owl Sanctuary has a wide variety of Birds (including Birds of Prey), Herbivores (plant eaters), Omnivores (plant & meat eaters) and Carnivores (meat eaters) on display. Public feeding of certain animals is organised on a daily basis, usually between 1pm and 2pm.

The public are invited to pet some of our tamer residents. In addition, photo's with these animals and you can be taken - using either our camera or yours.

There is a wonderful Tea Garden on the premises, which is ideal for light lunches, snacks and drinks.

Note: No booking is necessary for the public, unless you want to hold a party or function.

Schools

Lory Park Animal and Owl Sanctuary can organise day trips on weekdays for schools up to 120 children. We provide guided tours through the zoo, which usually start at 9am for all school levels (grades 1-12 & preschoolers). Our guided tours can be structured around any particular curriculum, providing a more appealing insight into the students' subjects. We can also provide the scholars with worksheets and/or a physical exam, which will be given by and marked by our curator. Interaction with certain animals is also an additional option.

A tuck shop for chips, sweets and drinks will be open for the students. Teachers may order tea and coffee from the Tea Garden at their own expense. Phone us to organise and book your school tour.

Guided Tour price – R35 for students and Teachers

Note – If guided tour is not required the price is R30 for children and R40 for adults

Parties

Kiddies parties are always exciting at Lory Park Animal and Owl Sanctuary . Come and enjoy a hassle free birthday for your child. You are welcome to do your own catering, whereby all our facilities are available to you (braai, table areas and jungle gym) or you can sit back and relax while we do all the work. Set menus are available. For more information on kiddies parties and catering, please contact us. For catering requirements, the best person to speak to is Matty, our catering coordinator. Entrance fees for the public will apply.

Company Functions

Lory Park Zoo is a great place for company functions. What better place to get to know your colleagues than at the Zoo, while getting to know our animals. At the end of the day, maybe your company would like to support Lory Park Zoo by adopting or sponsoring one of our animals. For catering requirements, the best person to speak to is Matty, our catering coordinator. Entrance fees for the public will apply.
